According to an report published in the Journal Of Cleaner Production, a chemist from a Russian university has found an economic and eco-friendly way to manufacture electrodes for batteries using coffee production waste. Researchers have been looking to replace graphite used in electrodes with other carbon materials. It was found that electrodes made from coffee grounds were more long lasting and energy efficient. This is perhaps the first time coffee grounds have been exploited for reuse.
