Even as he faces massive backlash for his standup special on Netflix, comedian Dave Chapelle is in no mood for a climbdown.
Sharing footage from one of his latest performances, Chapelle said, he was more than willing to give transgender employees at Netflix an audience, but he was not okay with being summoned.
Chappelle said, he won't be bending to anybody's demands. He added, those who want to meet him, must come to a place of his choosing at a time of his choosing.
Recently, several Netflix employees walked out in protest of Netflix refusing to take down Chapelle's show 'The Closer'. Activists and several Netflix employees are objecting to the alleged transphobic comments by Dave Chappelle on the show.
Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos has meanwhile defended Chappelle, saying that his jokes were a matter of artistic freedom.
