Days after he took the charge of ruling BJP's youth wing, Lok Sabha MP Tejasvi Surya triggered a political storm on Monday as he called his home city, Bengaluru, a terror hub. Surya's comments, calling the metropolitan 'an epicentre of terror activities', didn't go well with the opposition Congress and a section of social media users. While the Congress chief for Karnataka, DK Shivakumar, called for his sacking as the BJP's youth wing chief, many social media users pointed out to the irony that the southern state was ruled by Surya's party. Chief Minister BS Yediyurrapa, however, came to the rescue of the young Parliamentarian, saying Surya who has also created flutter in the past with his controversial remarks, must have pointed to the rise of terror activities in the metropolitan.
