The extortion case against suspected conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar involving Bollywood starlet Jacqueline Fernandez has taken yet another turn.
The Enforcement Directorate has already questioned Jacqueline about her ties with the conman over the last few months.
Now, reportedly Sukesh Chandrashekhar has claimed that Jacqueline lied about specific aspects of the gifts he gave her.
Sukesh Chandrashekhar is being investigated by the central agency under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act for an alleged extortion case involving Rs. 200 crore. He is being held at Tihar jail. Leena Maria Paul, his actress wife, is also a co-accused.
ED claims that during the course of the inquiry, the accused gave Jacqueline gifts worth Rs. 10 crore and met her whenever he was out on bail.
Sukesh Chandrashekhar reportedly told ED inspectors that the amount of money he provided the actress's sister Geraldine was more than what Jacqueline said in her statement.
When challenged about the $150,000 loan he made to Fernandez's sister, the conman said, 'She isn't speaking the truth, no. I gave Geraldine $180,000 and a BMW (X5) through [someone] named Deepak Ramnani.
The accused claimed to be a friend of the Jacqueline and claimed to have given her '15 earrings, five Birkin bags, other bags from YSL, Gucci...Cartier bangles and Tiffany bracelets' as gifts.
Not only that, according to reports, Sukesh Chandrashekhar said that he gifted Jacqueline's parents a Maserati and a Porsche.
'I also permitted Jacqueline to utilise a private jet that I was utilising on a regular basis,' he stated.
Jacqueline was given four Persian cats and a horse by the conman, according to the indictment sheet.
Her photo with Sukesh Chandrashekhar became viral as well, fueling dating suspicions. Then she was barred from leaving the country as well.
