A war of words erupted between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday after five people were killed during polling in Cooch Behar, including four in firing by the CISF.

Expressing condolences to the families of slain, Modi, who addressed two rallies at Siliguri and Krishnanagar in Nadia district, accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of instigating people against central forces and said the problem lay with her politics of "rigging elections and violence".

In in Siliguri, hitting back at the PM, Mamata asked how Modi is giving clean chit to the Central forces.

She also targeted Union Home Minister Amit Shah, calling him the key conspirator. Demanding his resignation, she said she doesn’t blame central forces because they just follow Amit Shah’s order.
