Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday held a meeting with health officials to review the Covid situation. After meeting with ministers, health experts and senior officials of the state government in Bengaluru, Yediyurappa said no rallies and protests will be allowed in the state for the next 15 days amid surge in coronavirus cases.
He said the number of election rallies "will need to be dropped" to contain the Covid situation in the city. He however ruled out lockdown in the state.
The CM appealed to the public to observe proper Covid restrictions and avoid crowding. He appointed eight IAS officers as nodal officers to keep a check and control the spread of the disease.
