Bhopal: 'serial killer' caught after murders of 4 security guards in MP; victim phone location aids cops

An alleged serial killer was arrested in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal in 2 September 2022. Shiv Prasad was arrested for allegedly murdering 3 security guards in MP's Sagar, and one in Bhopal.

The alleged serial killer was caught after police tracked the location of a mobile phone that had been picked up from one of the victims in Sagar.

The first killing in the murder spree reportedly took place on the intervening night of 28 and 29 August 2022. Kalyan Lodhi, a guard at a factory, was the first victim. He was found with his head smashed with a hammer.

The next night, Shambhu Narayan Dube, a guard at an arts & commerce college, was found dead with his head smashed with a stone. The following night, Mangal Ahirwar, a watchman at a house, died after being attacked with a stick.

The fourth murder took place on the night of 1 September when Sonu Verma was hit with a marble pillar.
