Delhi acid attack: notice issued to Flipkart and Amazon, chemical bought online

The Delhi Commission for Women has issued notices to Flipkart and Amazon after the police said that the acid thrown on a 17-year-old girl was bought online. 

The notice is over 'easy availability of acid' on these e-commerce sites despite a Supreme Court ban on its sale online or in shops. 

Calling it a matter of grave concern, the DCW sought a detailed action taken report from the two firms by December 20.

A 17-year-old girl on her way to school was attacked with acid on Wednesday by two bike-borne youths in West Delhi The girl is currently in Burns ICU of Safdarjung Hospital.

Police have arrested three accused in the case and found that the main accused had procured the acid through an e-commerce portal.
