A 54-year-old Indian Air Force officer accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl surrendered in Bhubaneswar on October 30.
According to the Times of India, the alleged incident happened in June when the officer was home on leave.
The accused family had hosted a party at their home on June 23. The survivor's family were friends with the accused's wife and were invited to the party. According to the police, the girl's mother arrived to the party early and the officer offered to pick up the daughter. The accused allegedly sexually assaulted the teenage girl when he found her alone at home.
The mother of the girl filed a complaint on June 28 following which the accused man fled.
The police said that he didn't answer their summons and couldn't be found anywhere till he surrendered.
