A vandalism incident occurred at a church in Karnataka, two days after Christmas celebrations.

The St Mary's Church in Periyapatna in Mysuru was targeted on 27 December 2022 by vandals who are yet to be identified.

Reports said that various items kept in the church were damaged, including a statue of the baby Jesus.

Police said they were analysing CCTV footage, and several teams have been formed to apprehend the culprits.

"We are scouting for clues from the CCTV footage recorded by nearby cameras. Prima Facie looks like it is theft, as they have made away with money, and also with one collection box that was placed outside the church," Seema Latkar, Superintendent of Police, Mysuru was quoted as saying by NDTV.
