Revolver Rani, Kala Rana, and Kala Jathedi - with sinister names like these, the members of Lawrence Bisnoi's gangster network have been trying to spread terror, and make money in North India. The gang is again in news after the murder of Punjabi singer and politician Sidhu Moose Wala.
Here's a quick look at these gangsters, the crimes they are accused of, the places where they operate, and their current whereabouts.
Let's start with one of the most well-known members of this group - Lady Don aka Revolver Rani aka Madam Minz, whose real name is Anuradha Chaudhary. She was arrested in July 2021 with her rumoured boyfriend Kala Jathedi, another menacing member of this group. She faces cases ranging from abduction, to extortion, to firing. Anuradha was earlier an associate of gangster Anandpal Singh, who was killed in a police encounter in 2017 in Rajasthan's Churu. The 'Lady Don' was nabbed from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Next is her boyfriend Kala Jathedi, whose real name is Sandeep, and hails from Sonepat in Haryana. He carried a bounty of ₹7 lakh on his head when he was captured. Jathedi was allegedly involved in 40 murders. He was wanted by Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan police for several heinous crimes. He had also escaped from Haryana Police's custody in 2020.
Then, there is Sampat Nehra, whose claim to fame is that he allegedly tried to assassinate Bollywood actor Salman Khan. He is the son of a retired Chandigarh police officer, and was arrested from Hyderabad in 2018 by the Haryana Special Task Force. Nehra was also allegedly involved in the 2018 incident when Punjabi singer Parmish Verma was shot.
Another infamous member of the Bishnoi gang is Kala Rana. Virender Partap aka Kala Rana was accused in over 30 cases of murder, attempted murder, extortion, and criminal intimidation. He fled to Thailand in 2017-18, using a forged passport. However, he was deported and arrested by Delhi Police in March 2022. A native of Karnal in Haryana, Kala Rana was allegedly involved in crimes in Rajasthan, Punjab, Chandigarh and Delhi.
The leader of this gang is Lawrence Bishnoi, who is lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail. Bishnoi hails from Ferozepur, and served as president of the Students' Organisation of Panjab University (SOPU), as per reports. He is in jail under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
