On cam: policeman jumps on car's bonnet; driver keeps going to evade fine

In a dangerous incident, a traffic policeman was dragged for many kilometres while being perched on the bonnet of a car. The incident occurred in Indore on 12 December 2022.

The policeman had stopped the person for talking on the phone while driving. The driver allegedly got angry when asked to pay a fine, and started driving.

The accused did not stop even when 50-year-old traffic head constable Shiv Singh Chouhan jumped on the bonnet.

Police eventually surrounded the vehicle and arrested the driver who was also carrying guns.

The accused driver was arrested under sections 279 (rash driving), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to on duty public servant) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
