Cristiano Ronaldo nets 58th career hattrick as Portugal thrash Luxembourg 5-0

Cristiano Ronaldo exhibited sheer brilliance as he completed 115 international goals in a lopsided World Cup Qualifier between Portugal and Luxembourg. The hosts demolished a feeble Luxembourg 5-0 in Group A game on Tuesday. The Manchester United star who opened the account for his team in the 8th min netted the goal twice from the penalty spot.

Bruno Fernandes and Joao Palhinha also scored in the 17th and the 69th minute respectively as the visitors struggled on the ground. Ronaldo who has scored the maximum number of international goals against Luxembourg, struck again in the 87th minute to complete his 58th career hattrick for the club and country. Portugal is now only behind Serbia in the Group A points table.
