Dozens of excited South Koreans took selfies and photos in front of a giant "Squid Game" figure which made its debut on Monday at Seoul's Olympic Park.
The figure is a giant robot doll from the first episode of Netflix's hit Korean series, which eliminates contestants after a bloody contest of South Korean folk game "Mugunghwa."

A group of women in matching cycling outfits posed and playfully ran after each other while playing the popular game.
"Mugunghwa", the rose of Sharon, is South Korea's national flower. In the game, players are only allowed to move when they hear the phrase "the Mugunghwa flower has blossomed."

The games featured in "Squid Game" are largely familiar to most south Koreans, and they are very "proud" that a series produced in Korea is so popular around the world.
The figure will stay at the Olympic Park until January 2022.
