Digantika Bose, a grade 12 student from West Bengal, has won the prestigious national science competition award for an innovative ‘ear pressure reduction tool’ that she has created to help frontline Covid-19 workers.

Bose was one of nine children who were awarded the Dr A P J Abdul Kalam Ignited Mind Children Creativity and Innovation Awards 2020.

Talking about her innovation, Digantika told Indian Express, “The head band is a facemask extender that simply connects the ear straps and extends them to wrap around the back of your head. As a result, there will be no pressure on the ears, and hence no discomfort or pain.”
