Day after lynching incident, Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi visits Golden Temple

Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar a day after a man was beaten to death over an alleged sacrilege attempt. 

Punjab government has constituted a special investigation team to probe the alleged sacrilege attempt at the holy shrine of the Sikhs. 

Earlier in the day, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa held a meeting in Amritsar with the deputy commissioner, the police commissioner and other officials.

On Saturday, a man allegedly tried to desecrate the sword kept beside the Guru Granth Sahib in the Golden Temple's enclousre. 

On Sunday, another man was beaten to death in Kapurthala for allegedly disrespecting the Sikh flag
