Mumbai's additional chief metropolitan magistrate court dismissed actor Kangana Ranaut's plea to transfer the defamation case against lyricist Javed Akhtar to another court, saying the lower court in Andheri, which heard the case, has acted "judiciously" and did not show any bias against the actor.

The court said, that just because the court went ahead following the due procedure of law, it does not mean that it is biased against the actress.
Kangana Ranaut had filed the transfer petition last month, saying that she had "lost faith" in the Andheri court as it indirectly “threatened” her of issuing a warrant if she failed to appear before it in a bailable offence.
Lyricist Javed Akhtar had filed the complaint in the Andheri court in November last year, claiming that Kangana had made defamatory statements against him in a television interview, which allegedly damaged his reputation.

Kangana has then filed a counter complaint in the Andheri court against him, for alleged "extortion and criminal intimidation".
