A doctor, who had taken both doses of vaccine, died in the national capital due to Covid-19 on Saturday, the Indian Express reported.

The Indian Express wrote that Dr Anil Kumar Rawat had received the second shot of the Covishield vaccine at the beginning of March.

After contracting Covid about 10-12 days ago, Dr Rawat was initially in home isolation but had to be shifted to the hospital when his oxygen level started dipping. The report said he was put on a ventilator two days ago and had developed severe pneumonia leading to respiratory failure.

The newspaper said before Dr Rawat was put on a ventilator, he had told a colleague that he will come out of this as he has been vaccinated. The 58-year-old surgeon had been with Saroj hospital since its inception in 1996.
