As the Delhi Metro resumes operations, concerns about the air flow and ventilation inside stations and train coaches continue to arise.
In an attempt to reduce the risk of transmission of Covid-19, the DMRC has made widespread changes to air conditioning and ventilation systems at underground stations and inside coaches.
Authorities have decided to increase the rate at which fresh air is pumped into train coaches. They have also installed open ventilation vents at underground stations to ensure that stale air escapes. This will help refresh the air inside the coaches every 2 minutes, 33 seconds.
