In a major trial to test whether vitamin D could protect against Covid-19, researchers from the Queen Mary University of London, are looking for over 5,000 volunteers to join the study.
The study aims to assess whether risks of the novel coronavirus can be reduced by correcting vitamin D deficiencies in people especially in the winter months when people are more susceptible to respiratory illnesses.
The volunteers do not need to step out of their homes, vitamin D supplements would be sent to their homes via post.
If proven effective, vitamin D could aid the fight against the deadly novel coronavirus.
