A complete visual treat for netizens as Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnav shared images of  India's first vertical lift sea bridge, the new Pamban Bridge. 

The New Pamban Bridge, being developed by Railway Vikas Nigam Limited parallel to the old railway bridge is a engineering marvel as it will be India’s first ever Vertical Lift Rail Sea Bridge. The existing Pamban Rail Bridge, which connects Rameswaram to mainland India, is 105 years old.

Indian Railways began the construction work on the new 2.05 km Pamban railway bridge in Mandapam, which will connect Rameswaram to the mainland in Tamil Nadu. The Railway Ministry in a recent tweet expects the new bridge to be complete and open for business by March 2022.
