To deal with the waste created by face masks, a Dutch designer Marianne de Groot-Pons has created face masks with rice paper that are filled with flower seeds.

The masks, created by her company called Marie Bee Bloom, are biodegradable and are meant to be buried into the ground after use.

Once they're buried, they bloom into stunning flowers. The glue used on the mask is also made using potato starch and water.

The artisanal masks are priced at approx. US$3.58 each and provides as much or as little protection as fabric masks, she claims.
