EAM Jaishankar in US: Covid vaccine for India to be key agenda

External Affairs Minister Jaishankar is on a five-day visit to US beginning May 24.

In New York, he is expected to meet UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and hold discussions with his counterpart Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Washington DC.

The issue of Covid  vaccine procurement is expected to be a key agenda item during Jaishankar's interaction with US leadership and other stakeholders. India is engaged in talks with various US entities involved in Covid vaccines production and is looking forward to procuring and subsequently producing these vaccines. He is also likely to engage the business community on the medical aspects of tackling Covid-19 in India
