Bitter rivals AAP and Congress have come together in Goa to take on BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In 2022, BJP secured a narrow victory in the assembly elections succeeding in forming the government with the last-minute support of independent MLAs. While Congress stood second with 11 seats, AAP won 2 seats.
The coming Lok Sabha election in the state assumes great significance for both BJP and Congress, as each party currently holds one seat each in the state. As per the seat-sharing agreement with AAP, Congress will fight on both seats against the BJP.
