Access to clean water is one of the most basic tenets of life. With the Swachh Bharat Mission, water sanitation has been one of the main priorities of the Indian government. Vikram Chandra speaks to Bharat Lal, Director-General of the National Council for Good Governance, on how India can ensure clean water for every citizen.

He also talks about how India’s water systems can become resilient in the face of increasingly erratic rainfall amid climate change, by managing the water cycle, harvesting rainwater, and treating grey water for use.

Watch The India Story with Vikram Chandra, Fridays at 8PM.
