On The India Story: Road to 2024, former Union Minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram speaks exclusively to editorji's Vikram Chandra about the Congress' election manifesto and his party’s prospects in the ongoing Lok Sabha election.

In a point-by-point rebuttal to BJP's allegations on inheritance tax and wealth distribution, Chidambaram says that PM Modi and other members of his party are criticising an ‘imaginary’ manifesto. He also challenges the BJP to highlight parts of his party's manifesto that talk about wealth distribution.

Without predicting Congress' performance in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, Chidambaram expresses confidence that the electoral tide is not working in NDA govt's favour.

If elected to power, the senior Congress leader also promises that his party will repeal The Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) which he alleges has been amended by the NDA govt to use against political opponents.
