G20 summit sherpa Amitabh Kant wants India's presidency to be remembered for growth, development and focus on citizens.

'What would you like the summit and India's presidency to be remembered by?' editorji's Vikram Chandra asked Amitabh Kant.

'The headline should be about growth and development of the world because that's what India is focused on. It's about the last mile. It's about citizens. Our presidency has been very citizen-centric,' he said.

'75 countries are in global debt. They are going through a very terrible period. You have 200 million people who have gone below poverty line. 100 million people have lost their jobs. So our presidency should be remembered for its unique contribution to both the citizens of the world and to the growth of the world...for being the voice of the Global South,' he added.
