The India Story| G20 includes African Union as permanent member

In a major achievement for India's G20 presidency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally announced the inclusion of the African Union as a permanent member of the G20 on September 9, 2023.

PM Modi and external affairs minister S Jaishankar welcomed African Union chair and Comoros President Azali Assoumani to officially join the bloc at the G20 Summit in Delhi on the first day of the G20 summit.
