Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Aazad has said that his political party, the Azad Samaj Party, will contest the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections on its own but they are also in talks with the Congress party.
Aazad told Aaj Tak that his party will be an alternative to other political parties in Uttar Pradesh and that he has rejected several offers to be MLA and minister
He further added that he will not form an alliance with the Samajwadi Party even if it gives him 100 seats.

On January 15, while ruling out the possibility of an alliance with SP, the Bhim Army chief had said that after months of discussions with Akhilesh Yadav, he hads realised that the former CM does not want Dalits in the party, he just wants them to vote for him.
