Shaunak Sen’s ‘All That Breathes’ has earned an Oscar nomination for India in the Documentary Feature Film category. The film is competing in the category with — ‘All the Beauty and the Bloodshed’, ‘Fire of Love’, ‘A House Made of Splinters’ and ‘Navalny’.
‘All That Breathes’ has won top awards at the Sundance Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival.
The film follows siblings Mohammad Saud and Nadeem Shehzad, who rescue and treat injured birds, especially the Black Kites.
‘The Elephant Whisperers’, Indian documentary short film, also scored a nomination at the 95th Academy Awards in the Best Documentary Short Film category. Other nominees in this category include ‘Haulout, How do you measure a year?’, ‘The Martha Mitchell Effect’ and ‘Stranger At The Gate’.
The nominations for Oscars 2023 were announced by Allison Williams and Riz Ahmed.
The Oscars ceremony will be held on March 12, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles. It will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
