At a recent trailer launch event, acclaimed director A.R. Murugadoss shared a heartfelt story about his admiration for Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, revealing how a chance encounter in Chennai ignited his desire to collaborate with the actor.
Murugadoss, known for hits like 'Ghajini' and 'Holiday', is set to release his first film with Salman titled 'Sikandar', slated for a March 30, 2025 release.
The director recounted his early days as an assistant director, eager to absorb the film industry's magic. During a visit to Prasad Studios in Chennai, he persuaded a guard to allow him to observe a film set under strict conditions: remain silent and stay in a corner for no more than 20 minutes. What he unexpectedly witnessed left a lasting impression.
"I entered the studio, unsure of what to expect amidst the dark smoke and lights," Murugadoss reminisced. "There was Sridevi, and then I saw an actor's back as he combed his hair. To my surprise, it was Salman Khan. That moment, I dreamed of directing him someday."
Years later, this dream has materialized with 'Sikandar', an action-packed film starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna. At the trailer launch, Salman praised Murugadoss's relentless pursuit of excellence, particularly in the film's gripping action sequences.
While discussing future projects, Murugadoss expressed his ambition to work with Shah Rukh Khan, potentially completing a trifecta of collaborations with Bollywood's beloved Khans.
Having previously directed Aamir Khan in 'Ghajini' and just concluding his project with Salman, he looks forward to eventually teaming up with Shah Rukh Khan following a planned Tamil film.
With a portfolio that includes collaborations with legendary stars like Rajinikanth, Vijay, and Mahesh Babu, A.R. Murugadoss continues to be a formidable force in the film industry.
Fans eagerly await 'Sikandar', expecting nothing short of the director's signature intensity and storytelling prowess.
