With popular TV actor Gurucharan Singh yet to be traced, the Delhi Police has now reportedly widened its search to Mumbai, and has started questioning his castmates and friends.

According to a Hindustan Times newspaper report, the police have reached Mumbai. Meanwhile, News18, quoting Delhi Police sources, has reported that the actor may have planned his disappearance. The police believe that he may have moved out of Delhi.

Singh, who essayed the role of Sodhi from the popular TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, had been missing since April 22. His last location was traced to Delhi.

His father filed a missing complaint four days later which stated, “My son Gurucharan Singh, Age: 50 years, had left at 8:30 am on 22nd April to go to Mumbai. He went to the airport to catch a flight. He didn’t reach Mumbai, neither has he returned home and his phone is not reachable. He is mentally stable and we had been searching for him but now he has been missing.”

Rohit Meena, DCP South West Delhi, had told ANI, ‘Gurucharan's family registered a complaint that he has been missing since April 22. He was supposed to go to Mumbai, but he didn't. We have registered a case under Section 365 of the IPC. We have put together a team to probe the matter and our technical team is also working on the case. We are in the process of going over the CCTV footage, where he is seen walking by himself.’

Sodhi's close friend, Ms. Soni, spoke to Pinkvilla and disclosed that the actor had been unwell for the past few days, undergoing several tests. She also mentioned that he hadn't been eating properly recently.

‘Before leaving for Delhi, his blood pressure was high and he had undergone a few tests as well. He wasn’t even eating much before he left for Delhi. I really hope and pray that he is fine, and returns back safe and sound,’ Ms Soni said.

Gurucharan, who gained fame for his comedic roles in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, left the show a few years ago.
