Popular Bhojpuri actor Akanksha Dubey died allegedly by suicide in a hotel room in Varanasi on March 26. She was shooting for her new film ‘Nayak’ in the city. Now, Akanksha’s mother has accused Bhojpuri singer Samar Singh and his brother Sanjay Singh of threatening the actor.
Following this, the police in Uttar Pradesh’s Sarnath have filed a case against the duo for abetment to suicide.
As per IANS, the late actor’s mother Madhu Dubey said that her daughter was very courageous and that she could not have committed suicide. She told the reporters that she had spoken to
Akanksha on phone on Saturday evening and she seemed happy.
Akanksha’s mother also claimed that the actor was in a live-in relationship with Samar and used to beat her up often.
‘Samar Singh wanted Akanksha to work only with him and not with anyone else. He did not give money for working together and used to beat her if she worked in someone else’s project,’ she said.
She also revealed that Samar’s brother Sanjay had threatened to kill Akanksha Dubey on March 21.
Akansha Dubey was found dead in her hotel room in Sarnath on Sunday. However, no suicide note was recovered.
