'Baahubali: Crown of Blood': SS Rajamouli announces animated series; trailer arrives soon

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli took to social media on April 30 to announce his new series ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’. The director, who helmed the two-part Baahubali films, shared a video announcing the title. He also confirmed that the trailer will be released soon.

The announcement video features the title emerging from the smoke. The video also featured people chanting, ‘Baahubali.’

Sharing the video, Rajamouli wrote, “When the people of Mahishmati chant his name, no force in the universe can stop him from returning. Baahubali: Crown of Blood, an animated series trailer, arrives soon!’

The filmmaker is yet to share more details about the cast and story.
Baahubali has previously been adapted into animation. In 2017, Rajamouli launched ‘Baahubali: The Lost Legends,’ a four-season animated series available on Amazon Prime Video.

Baahubali shattered several records upon its release, not just in India but globally, including in Japan, China, and key European markets. Directed by SS Rajamouli, ‘Baahubali 2’ grossed a massive Rs. 1810 crores, making it the second highest-grossing film in Indian box office history. Domestically, it holds the top spot. Its 2017 release revolutionized Indian cinema, setting unprecedented benchmarks.
Both movies boast a stellar ensemble cast, featuring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, and Nassar.

About SS Rajamouli

Rajamouli's latest directorial venture was ‘RRR,’ which garnered global acclaim in addition to its success in India. Starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the film's song ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the Oscar for Best Song in 2023.

Rajamouli's next project, tentatively titled ‘SSMB29’, stars superstar Mahesh Babu. The film is rumoured to be a thrilling forest adventure.

In an interaction with fans at the ‘RRR’ screening event in Japan, Rajamouli disclosed that the script for ‘SSMB29; has been finalised, and pre-production is currently in progress. He said, ‘We started my next film. We completed the writing and we are in the pre-production process. But we haven’t finished the casting yet. Only the hero is locked, his name is Mahesh Babu. He is a very good actor. Many of you know him. He is very handsome. Hopefully, we finish the film a little bit fast and during the release I will bring him here.’
