'2 States' actor Shiv Kumar Subramaniam passes away

Well known actor and award-winning screenplay writer Shiv Kumar Subramaniam passed away in Mumbai last night (April 10). The 2 States actor, who was known for his compelling onscreen presence, starred in several Hindi films. Film-maker Hansal Mehta shared a statement on social media, which stated that the funeral will take place today (April 11) in Mumbai.

The late Shiv Subramaniam recently starred alongside Sanya Malhotra in the Netflix family drama 'Meenakshi Sundareshwar’. Besides this, he has starred in many films like '2 States,' 'Tu Hai Mera Sunday' and others. His performance as the lead actor in the TV show ‘Mukti Bandhan’ was extremely appreciated.

Besides being an actor, Shiv Subramaniam was also a well-known scriptwriter. His stellar work as a scriptwriter include films like 'Parinda,' '1942: A Love Story’, ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’, to name a few. He had bagged Filmfare awards for ‘Best Screenplay’ for ‘Parinda’ and ‘Best Story’ for ‘Hazaron Khawishesh Aisi’.
