Sonam Kapoor knows how to amp up her fashion game with the latest trends. She made her debut in the film industry with 'Saawariya', co-starring the nation's heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor and left everyone in awe of her beauty. In a career span of over fifteen years, Sonam has come a long way as an actor. This bold beauty has never shied away from speaking her heart out. Here is a look at some of the statements made by her which stirred the internet.

Weight gain

Sonam Kapoor tied the knot with businessman Anand Ahuja in 2018. In an interview with news agency IANS, the actor revealed that she gained weight post-marriage, had bad skin, and developed dark circles. However, she didn't lose her confidence. She encouraged other women by saying that it's okay to be a mess. Sonam said, ‘A lot of girls tend to be like, 'Listen, if I am such a mess, how am I ever going to succeed in life?' But I want to say, it's okay to be a mess.’

She further stated that in India there is a lot of pressure, be it about marriage, education, skin, short hair, or drinking.

Homosexuality

Sonam Kapoor has been a staunch supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. During a conversation with Kareena Kapoor Khan on her radio show, ‘What Women Want’, the actor talked about homosexuality as she portrayed the role of a lesbian in the 2019 film, 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga.' When asked if she is inspired by her real-life for her role in the film, the 'Neerja' actor said that she draws mere emotions from her real life. Sonam further added that people need to understand that one's sexuality is something one is born with, be it a man or a woman, it's on that person to be a woman or a man.

During the promotions of her 2014 film 'Bewakoofiyaan' there were reports that Sonam Kapoor's father Anil Kapoor said that her bikini shot would get her film a good opening. However, the actor refuted the reports and said that he never made such a statement.
