A tale with a twist: Jr NTR to play Indian agent in ‘War 2’? Here's what we know

Jr NTR’s fans have more than one reason to celebrate. Not only will the ‘RRR’ star be seen in ‘War 2’, but he will also have a bigger role in the YRF Spy Universe. Reports have emerged that Aditya Chopra has bigger plans for the superstar in his upcoming film.  

Jr NTR’s role in ‘War 2’ 

Jr NTR is all set to be seen in ‘War 2’ which will be the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe after ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘War’, ‘Pathaan’, and ‘Tiger 3’. While earlier there were reports that Jr NTR will play a villain in ‘War 2’, now more clarity has come out about his character. The reports suggest that the actor will be seen in the role of an Indian agent.  

A bigger role in YRF Spy Universe 

Aditya Chopra reportedly has plans to take Jr NTR’s character further than ‘War 2’. In fact, it is being reported that the South superstar will have spin-offs and cameos across the YRF Spy Universe with a showdown brewing between Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ and Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger’.  

Newest entry to YRF Spy Universe 

After Salman Khan as ‘Tiger’, Shah Rukh Khan as ‘Pathaan’ and Hrithik Roshan as ‘Kabir’, Jr NTR is the latest entry to Aditya Chopra’s YRF Spy Universe. ‘War 2’ will mark Jr NTR’s entry to Hindi cinema as the makers aim to make pan-India film universe.  

More about ‘War 2’ 

Scheduled to be released on Independence Day 2025 weekend, this film is being directed by Ayan Mukerji. The filming is currently underway with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. Besides the two superstars, Kiara Advani will also be seen in the upcoming action-thriller. A report by Real Box Office suggests that the film will have a Korean villain in the entry scene where Hrithik will be seen engaged in a sword fight.
