Aamir Khan on 'Laal Singh Chaddha' boycott trend: 'I respect those who don't want to watch the film'

The most anticipated film of 2022 ‘Laal Singh Chadha’, starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, has been facing a lot of backlash on social media after a video of the 'PK' actor's 2015 statement about 'growing intolerance in the country resurfaced. #Boycottlaalsinghchadda has been trending on Twitter over the last few weeks.

Reacting to the boycott calls for the film, Aamir Khan said that he is just keeping his fingers crossed and praying to the almighty for the film's success. He apologised to those who he may have offended and said that he respects those who don't wish to watch his forthcoming film.

He said, "Agar maine kisi ka dil dukhaya hai kisi cheez se toh mujhe us baat ka dukh hai aur mujhe maaf karna" (If I have hurt someone's heart with something, then I am sorry for that). I respect those who don't want to watch the film but I want more people to watch it."

'Laal Singh Chaddha' marks Aamir Khan's comeback to the big screen after a gap of four years. The film, which is a remake of the Hollywood classic ‘Forrest Gump’, will release in theatres on August 11.
