Are Bollywood stars Aamir Khan and Salman Khan about to star in a film together?

This question has been buzzing ever since Aamir’s production house unearthed an old X post by Salman Khan, hinting at a potential collaboration. The stars brought laughter to audiences with their iconic pairing in the 1994 film ‘Andaz Apna Apna’.

A 2010 tweet from Salman Khan read, ‘I didn’t let Aamir touch me after the film. Agar mujhe gold mein badal deta toh???’ (What if he turned me into gold?).

Aamir Khan Production's repost of Salman’s tweet included the comment, ‘we think about this a lot,’ sparking speculation about a possible new project between the two stars.

Social media users have reacted with enthusiasm, with one commenting, ‘New tease about an upcoming film?’

Another X user wrote, ‘So you guys are coming up with something and you are good at marketing it.’

One of them wrote, ‘Both are going to do project together (sic).’

A user, probably a fan of ‘Andaz Apna Apna’, quoted a dialogue from the film, ‘Do dost phir se ek cup mein chai piyenge kya?’ Another user hoped for a good movie featuring Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. A fan also wished for Shah Rukh Khan to join Salman and Aamir in the movie.

While Salman Khan eagerly anticipates his upcoming film ‘Sikandar’, Aamir Khan recently discussed his retirement plans at an event. Speaking at the ‘Laapataa Ladies’ screening at the Supreme Court, Aamir shared, ‘I mentioned to the Chief Justice of India that during COVID, when I was 56, I considered that this might be the final phase of my career. I planned to work for another 15 years, actively until I’m 70, and beyond that, who knows? I want to give back to the industry, society, and country that have given me so much. I thought of doing one film a year, but as a producer, I aim to support multiple stories I am passionate about.’

Salman Khan's ‘Sikandar’, directed by AR Murugadoss, is set to hit theatres on Eid 2025.
