About ‘The Archies’

The trailer for the film was released in November. The forthcoming film promises to be a tale of friendship as the gang strives to save their town, Riverdale.

Talking about the idea of adapting ‘The Archies’ comics, Zoya Akhtar said that she was initially unsure if the essence of the comic could be retained, but ‘Since it’s a global IP, I need to be able to take something from here and do it in a language that retains its original essence and speaks to kids today. We were excited about that. We have done whatever we wanted to, and now we are getting scared, as always.’

The Archies is a heartwarming coming-of-age story set in the vintage aesthetic backdrop of the 1960s and is a collaboration between Netflix India, Tiger Baby, Archie Comics, and Graphic India.

The film will be available on Netflix on December 7.
