Kamaal R Khan, former Big Boss contestant and actor, was arrested by Malad Police on Tuesday morning, as per news agency ANI. According to the police, he was arrested over a controversial tweet which he posted in 2020. He was arrested after he landed at Mumbai Airport and will be presented before a Borivali court today, according to the Mumbai Police.
As per the Hindustan Times report, an FIR was filed against KRK for making derogatory remarks about late actors Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan on social media. It was registered based on a complaint by Yuva Sena’s core committee member Rahul Kanal.
New agency PTI quoted a police official as saying that KRK announced Rishi Kapoor’s hospitalisation on April 30, 2020, and said that the actor must not die as wine shops were set to open soon. He also took a dig at Irrfan Khan, a day before his death on April 29, 2020.

‘We have registered an FIR against Kamal R Khan for making derogatory remarks about both the deceased actors under section 294 (punishment for obscene acts or words in public) and other provisions of the IPC,’ PTI had quoted a senior police official as saying.
Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30, 2020 in Mumbai after a prolonged battle with leukaemia. His died less than 24 hours after Irrfan Khan, who died of colon infection on April 29.
