A day after Rashmika Mandanna's deepfake video went viral online, actor Katrina Kaif's towel scene from her forthcoming film 'Tiger 3' has been morphed.

In the original scene, Katrina was engaged in a towel-clad fight with a Hollywood stuntwoman, but in the morphed image she is seen in a low-cut white top and a matching bottom.

The image has been altered using Deepfake AI tools, which have the ability to manipulate and replace individuals' faces in videos and pictures, often resulting in misleading or fabricated content.

Taking to social media, several users strongly reacted to Katrina Kaif's deepfake picture. Expressing concerns, a user wrote, ‘Katrina Kaif's towel scene from Tiger 3 gets morphed. Deepfake picture is garnering attention and it's really shameful. AI is a great tool but using it to morph women is outright criminal offence. Feels disgusted.’
‘Deepfake is really scary! I need to take precautions i think!’ said another. ‘I'm Completely agree with her. AI is going to be dangerous day by day,’ commented a third, referring to a statement issued by Rashmika Mandanna on her deepfake video.

In Rashmika Mandanna's deepfake video a woman, dressed in black, is seen entering a lift. However, her face has been morphed and edited in a way that it resembles the actor.
Several social media users pointed out that the video is fake, raising questions on how ‘unreliable’ information is spreading rapidly on the internet.

Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan also demanded legal action after the morphed video started circulating online.
Rashmika Mandanna reacted to the same and called it ‘extremely scary’.

She wrote, ‘I feel really hurt to share this and have to talk about the deepfake video of me being spread online. Something like this is honestly, extremely scary not only for me, but also for each one of us who today is vulnerable to so much harm because of how technology is being misused.’

She added, ‘Today, as a woman and as an actor, I am thankful for my family, friends and well wishers who are my protection and support system. But if this happened to me when I was in school or college, I genuinely can’t imagine how could I ever tackle this. We need to address this as a community and with urgency before more of us are affected by such identity theft.’
