Akshay Kumar's display of humility was evident as he chose to use the metro for his commute in the city. A video capturing the star's metro journey has surfaced on X, where he can be seen maintaining a discreet presence by concealing his face with a mask.
On Thursday, a video featuring Akshay Kumar traveling in a metro was circulated on social media. The video was posted by a fanpage dedicated to the actor on platform X. In the footage, Akshay was observed wearing an entirely black ensemble, and he maintained a low profile by wearing a white mask. He was engaged in a conversation with producer Dinesh Vijan. While he sat inconspicuously inside the metro without causing any disturbance to fellow passengers, a keen-eyed fan managed to spot him.
Akshay’s last metro ride
This isn't the first instance of Akshay Kumar being spotted traveling via the metro. In February of the previous year, he was seen engaging with passengers while promoting his film ‘Selfiee’ alongside co-star Emraan Hashmi. During that time, both actors entered a newly-opened Mumbai Metro station, accompanied by their security and entourage. Soon after, they were joined by a flash mob, and they enthusiastically rose from their seats to dance along with the mob to their song ‘Main Khiladi.’
Akshay on India-Maldives controversy
In a more recent development, Akshay Kumar joined a trend promoting Indian tourism. This came after some notable individuals from the Maldives had made derogatory comments about India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to visit Indian islands. Akshay, who had recently celebrated the New Year with his family in the Maldives, expressed his reaction on platform X regarding these comments against India's beach tourism.
He wrote, ‘Came across comments from prominent public figures from the Maldives passing hateful and racist comments on Indians. Surprised that they are doing this to a country that sends them the maximum number of tourists. We are good to our neighbors, but why should we tolerate such unprovoked hate? I've visited the Maldives many times and always praised it, but dignity comes first. Let us decide to #ExploreIndianIslands and support our own tourism.’
