Alia Bhatt is making waves at the MET Gala 2024 with her glamorous and gorgeous avatar but amidst her appearance at the prestigious fashion event, the actor has once again been subjected to a deepfake controversy.

Alia Bhatt’s deepfake video

The Bollywood star has been targeted yet again as a video where her face has been morphed onto actor Wamiqa Gabbi’s face is doing rounds on social media.

The original video was shared by Wamiqa Gabbi on her Instagram account recently. Gabbi flaunted a red saree in the video, which she wore for the screening event of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Heeramandi’. The culprits misused AI technology to use Gabbi’s video and transposed Alia’s face on the video.

When Alia was targeted by Deepfake earlier

This isn’t the first time that the ‘Gangubai’ star has been targeted by the deepfake. Earlier, another morphed video of the actor had gone viral on social media.

Besides Alia, Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif, Sara Tendulkar and Kajol have also fallen prey to the deepfake menace. Despite Police taking legal action in some of these cases, the instances of the technology misuse seems only to be rising.

About Alia Bhatt’s current activities

The Bollywood Diva is currently in New York as she made her second appearance at the prestigious fashion event. On the work front, she will next be seen in ‘Jigra’. Besides, she also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love & War’ in the pipeline, in which she will share screen with husband Ranbir Kapoor and actor Vicky Kaushal.
