Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan got himself in the middle of a controversy after uploading a picture of himself riding pillion on a stranger's bike to 'avoid traffic jams and reach the location faster.' It was later discovered that he was not wearing a helmet. Big B has since clarified that he was 'just fooling around getting on the bike of a crew member' and has apologised. He explained that although it appeared as though he had travelled, he had not actually gone anywhere.
On Monday, Bachchan posted a photo of the ride to Instagram and thanked the generous stranger for letting him ride pillion to work. 'Thank you for the ride buddy. Don't know you. But you complied and took me on time to site of work. Faster and in avoidance of the insurmountable traffic jams. Thank you caps, shorts, and yellowed T-shirt owner,' Big B wrote while sharing the picture.
The Mumbai Police was contacted by online users to take action against the actor when they noticed that he was not wearing a helmet. In response, the Mumbai Police said they would take action against the actor.
Taking to his official blog, Big B on Tuesday said that “the fact of the matter is that this is on location shoot on the street of Mumbai.”
