Megastar Amitabh Bachchan traveled through Mumbai's newly inaugurated coastal road for the first time and was impressed. He shared a video of his drive through the tunnel, calling it a ‘marvel.’

Amitabh shared a video on his social media handle of his car driving through the tunnel. Recording from the backseat, he watched as his chauffeur drove the luxury car with a sunroof. Amitabh captioned the video, ‘Went first time in the TUNNEL - Enter before Haji Ali and out Halfway to Marine Drive .. a Marvel!’

The video quickly garnered over 50,000 views, with users flooding the comments section. One user expressed, ‘I'm glad you liked it, sir! Mumbai's modern roadways truly are a marvel unlike any other. Thank you for sharing, love you @Srbachchan sir.’ Another added, ‘Thanks to Maharashtra Government and Nitin Gadkari ji.’ A third user suggested, ‘Try Atal Tunnel sir.’

About Mumbai’s Coastal Road

Last month, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde inaugurated the first phase of the coastal road between Worli and Marine Drive in south Mumbai, hailing it as an ‘engineering marvel.’ The 10.5-kilometer-long stretch opened for traffic allows motorists to enter from Worli Seaface, Haji Ali interchange, and Amarson's interchange points, and exit at Marine Lines.

The second phase is set to open for traffic in May, connecting the 53 km-long coastal road to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link and extending it up to Dahisar. The coastal road has been named after Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and was inaugurated on his death anniversary. A statue of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj will be erected in Worli, next to the coastal road.
