Anupam Kher announces his next film as director on his birthday; deets inside

Veteran actor Anupam Kher, known for his versatile roles and powerful performances, has come up with a big announcement on his birthday. The ‘Kashmir Files’ actor is returning to direction with his next film. The actor updated the fans about his upcoming venture on social media.  

Anupam Kher unveils name of directorial venture 

Taking to the Instagram, Anupam Kher posted a video of himself with his mother as he revealed the title of his next film. In the caption, he wrote, “TANVI THE GREAT: Today, on my birthday I proudly announce the name of the film I have decided to direct.” Sharing more details about the film, he wrote that the film is a musical story of passion, courage, innocence and joy. The actor has been working on the story for the last three years.  

Kher will begin his new directorial venture from tomorrow. “And finally starting shooting tomorrow on the auspicious day of #Mahashivratri,” he added. The actor also sought wishes and blessings of his fans before heading out for the new challenge.  

Anupam Kher celebrates his 69th birthday 

Having done more than 500 films, Anupam Kher continues to challenge himself. He had put out a video yesterday, promising his fans to make a big surprise announcement on his birthday. Apart from fulfilling his promise, the actor also took the blessings on his birthday as he shared another video of himself at a temple. The clip shows a temple and then Kher turns the camera to himself and chants ‘Jai Mata Di’.

Anupam Kher’s last film as director was ‘Om Jai Jagdish’, which was released in 2002. On acting front, the actor was recently seen in ‘Kaagaz 2’ which was also the last film of the late actor Satish Kaushik. He will next be seen in ‘Vijay 69’, where he will play the lead role of a 69-year-old man who decides to compete in a triathlon.
