James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ is continuing its dream run at the box office and breaking records in India. After an amazing first week, the film continued to have a stronghold at ticket counters as it recorded a humongous collection of Rs 59.3 crore in the second weekend, beating the record of ‘Avenger: Endgame’s Rs 52.55 crore.
On its second Monday, ‘Avatar 2’ earned around Rs 12-13 crore, almost in the same range as its second Friday, as reported by Box Office India.
‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ is the fifth highest-grossing film of 2022 having minted $889 million and surpassing the collections of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ and ‘The Batman’. In India, the film is the third highest grosser after ‘KGF Chapter 2’ (Rs 434.70 crore) and SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ (Rs 274.31 crore).
‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ was released worldwide on December 16. In India, the film was released in five languages - English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. It stars Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Zoe Saldaana, and Kate Winslet and others in lead roles.
