‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,’ starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, will now hit theaters on April 11, Eid, as announced by the film's leads on Instagram. Akshay and Tiger, who are presently in the UAE for the film's promotion, posted a video on Instagram explaining the reason for the postponement. The movie was initially slated for release on April 10.
Sharing the video, Akshay wrote, ‘Bade aur Chote aur poori Bade Miyan Chote Miyan ki team ki taraf se aap sab ko advance mein Eid Mubarak. Dekhiye #BadeMiyanChoteMiyan on Eid with your entire family, now releasing on 11th April only in cinemas.’
As Eid will be celebrated in India on 11th April, the makers have decided to push the release by a day.
Coincidentally, Akshay's announcement follows shortly after the producers of Ajay Devgn's film ‘Maidaan’ decided to move its release date from April 10th to April 11th.
Ajay Devgn shared a new poster of Maidaan on his Instagram handle and wrote, ‘Mark your calendars! #Maidaan release across cinemas in India on 10th April, with special previews starting 6pm onwards. Full scale release to follow on the Eid holiday on 11th April. Reserve your seats now! (Link in bio).’
Apart from Ajay Devgn, the film also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and many other young actors. The words on the poster read, ‘Paid previews start Wednesday 10th April from 6 pm. Maidaan in cinemas Thursday 11th April.’
‘Maidaan’ delves into the golden era of Indian football in the early 1950s and 60s, focusing on coach Syed Abdul Rahim. Directed by Amit Sharma, the film stars Ajay Devgn in the role of the coach.
In a recent interview with news agency PTI, Amit Sharma shared his experience of working with Ajay. He mentioned, ‘If a superstar has agreed to do a film, it’s an advantage as the mounting of a film will become bigger... When Ajay Devgn used to enter the sets, he used to keep the Ajay Devgn persona outside, and enter like Syed Abdul Rahim, his character. He came prepped on sets with his dialogues. Not once he said, ‘The trousers are loose, how am I looking?’ He would be like, ‘Tell me what you want me to do, I’ll do it’. He is a director’s actor.’
