Bhairavi Vaidya, ‘Taal’ and ‘Chori Chori Chupke Chupke’ actor, dies at 67

Veteran actor Bhairavi Vaidya, who was best known for her roles in Salman Khan’s ‘Chori Chori Chupke Chupke’, died at the age of 67 on October 8. She was reportedly battling cancer for the past few months.

Bhairavi was last seen in the TV show ‘Nima Denzongpa’.

Her daughter Janki Vaidya took to her Instagram to pay tribute. Sharing a pic, Janki wrote: ‘For me you Are my, Maa,Mom,Mummy,Choti,Bhairavi...A Colourful,Fearless,Creative,Caring,Responsible! 1st an Actor Than a Wife and than a Parent!!! A lady who raised her Children and made them capable of achieving their Dreams without any fear of thinking "what if??" ... A lady who build her Name in the the industry than let that be Film,TV,Ott on her own Rules without compromising even a bit!!! A lady who smiled,laughed through her family!!! A lady who fought till her last breath... My pranam toyou...’

She added, ‘I was blessed to have you as my mother in this life, There's so much to say but I am choking!!! But only one thing would say I know your exit was early ... but I also know you wouldn't want to see urself in that particular situation...Maa Stay at Peace ... I promise I'll be a good child...You Takecare of yourself I'll do the rest.’

Actor Surabhi Das, who played the titular character in the show, confirmed the death of her co-star to India Today and said, ‘I am really saddened by the news of her passing away. I shared great times with her on sets.’

CINTAA paid its condolence on the passing away of Bhairavi and wrote ‘CINTAA expresses its condolences on the demise of Bhairavi Vaidya (Member since 2005).’

Actor Pratik Gandhi also remembered her as an ‘affectionate’ person with whom he shared the screen in a Gujarati film called, ‘Ventilator’.

Bhairavi Vadiya had been working as an actor for the past 45 years. Besides working in Hindi films and television shows, Bhairavi worked in the Gujarati film industry as well. She also worked in TV shows, ‘Hasratein’ and ‘Mahisagar’.

In Bollywood, Bhairavi has featured in films like ‘Humraaz’, ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘What's Your Rashee’, ‘Kya Dil Ne Kaha’, and others.

Vaidya had a supporting role in Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's 1999 Subhash Ghai film ‘Taal’ and Salman Khan, Preity Zinta, and Rani Mukerji starrer 2001 film ‘Chori Chori Chupke Chupke’.
